Buying low on Mrazek would have been infinitely better that getting Smith. |

agreed. 10 years younger, cheaper, and, quite honestly, I could see Mrazek bouncing back with better numbers |

(frank) I would settle for Brouwer (feeling generous) and Rasmus Andersson over losing him for nothing. |

Also great point about the jersey ads Todd. Pretty much all the jerseys look ready for upper chest ads. |

poop. I would take a new Wings blogger as the trade for Mrazek to the Flames. Cordell can quadruple shift. |

CGY wasn't going to give Ras for Mrazek, even if you took Brouwer. If that was DET ask, then I'm glad we went with Smith. You guys would have gotten a similar offer that ARZ got, I suspect. |

There doesn't look like a lot of "extra space" above the crest IMHO. I think it may look that way because the piping was removed.
Will there be ads? Maybe. |

Flames wouldn't give Rasmus for Mrazek, he has a sh!tty attitude and sucked last year. Glad we opted for Smith instead, as Todd mentioned we have a few goalies that will be ready for the show in the upcoming years.

Hahaha... in your dreams. Now Brouwer for Mzarek straight up & you're going to like it would have been a trade I could have lived with. |

Any package for Mrazek that includes Andersson and/or Brodie is not "buying low". Mrazek would have been an interesting add but not at that price. I am intrigued by Smith being added. I think his high level of competitiveness and leadership and puck handling skills are all elements in a goalie that we have not had, the more I think about the trade - the more I like it. At first, I was like meh - but I am really beginning to think now that this could turn out to be a really good trade. The thing that I worry about the most is Smith's injury history - however I am a glass half full kind of person so an injury to Smith could be looked at as, finally, an opportunity to see what our goalie prospect pipeline really looks like in NHL games.

I'm still meh on Smith. I'll reserve judgement until about December. My biggest hope for acquiring him, is that maybe he can teach the young guys how to play the puck better. It's a great quality to have when used appropriately. |

As for mrazek, there's a reason he's being exposed. I'm glad he isn't a flame. For Howard to be protected over him is a huge red flag. Hard pass. |
